Stories from Chei In June we'll be displaying a show of Daniel Josley's art! Daniel is a Navajo artist from Shonto, Arizona, known for both his murals and canvas paintings. His work often features personified horned toads (called Chei in Navajo), and depicts modern reservation life, stories passed down for generations, and some new stories from his own experiences - all in vibrant colors. Daniel will be doing live painting in the gallery this Friday during the June ArtWalk! New paintings will be up on the wall and we have lots of his prints available, too! Come in from 6:00-9:00pm on Friday, June 2nd to meet Daniel and watch him work. We'll have live music by Paul Webber, and as always, you can check out a full listing of ArtWalk events at artwalkflg.org. FlagLive! has also done an article on Daniel to coincide with his show. His paintings will be at the front of AZ Handmade Gallery all of June and you can find FlagLive! across town all month long. Check out the article to learn more about this incredible, up-and-coming artist! Summer Hours Starting This Week We've extended our hours a bit for the summer, this is our updated schedule. Flagstaff jeweler, Rachel Richardson, will be at AZ Handmade Gallery attaching eternity bracelets from noon-4pm on Sunday, May 14th!
Eternity bracelets are beautiful, classy, and wonderfully low-maintenance - perfect for busy moms and for grads ready to take on the world. Or mom and her grad can get matching ones! The bracelets are chains that Rachel attaches using a tiny welder so they stay on all the time and don't have a clasp! They do not penetrate the skin in any way and can be easily removed with a nail clipper if you no longer want them on. Bracelets start at $40. Rachel has chains available in sterling silver, 14k yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold, as well as plain charms that can be added or ones with diamonds and sapphires. A perfect way to commemorate a new step forward in life or celebrate mom and all she does! Stop in after brunch downtown to check them out and say hello to Rachel! |
