Inspired Glass Designs
"I studied art at Orange Coast College, Laguna School of Art and Design, and Pasadena City College, in California.
After many careers in the world, I moved to Sedona in 1990. Plugging into the Sedona Art Center allowed me to resume my desire for ceramics and stained glass production. In 1991, I bought my first glass-fusing kiln and began experimenting with the possibilities of making miniature stained glass windows. This led to fused glass jewelry – affordable, wearable glass art.
The process involves choosing colors, visualizing designs, cutting, grinding, heating the glass to 1600º, and slow cooling before wire wrap finishing.
For thousands of years glass has fascinated people who appreciate the quality of light transmission through solid forms. Glass has been the gift for queens and kings since the time of the Egyptian Pharaohs. The process of fusing glass combines the discovery of ancient techniques with space-age technology, along with a little magic."
