Canyon II Earrings
Handmade in Flagstaff, AZ by Nancy Foo.
Mixed metal earrings of Mokume-Gane (sterling silver and copper).
These oval shaped earrings are part of Nancy's Canyon collection. "The twist and turns of trails, the cliff formations and canyon walls, create the patterns of mokume-gane."
Mokume-Gane (pronounced Moe-koo-may Gah-nay) is an ancient metalworking technique developed centuries ago in Japan. The name translates as woodgrain metal. Each Mokume-Gane design is unique and no two pairs of earrings are alike. Mokume also has a sterling silver back to protect those who have sensitivity to copper.
Dimensions including handmade sterling silver ear wires are just over 1 inch long. The oval shape is approximately 1/4 inch wide and just under 1/2 inch long.
