Claire Was Here
I am the oldest of three, born April 24, 1963 in Atlanta, GA. I have also lived in North Carolina, Colorado, South Carolina, and finally Arizona.

I have known I wanted to be an artist from very early. I've always been a chronic doodler, and now it's being put to good use with my magnets, prints, bookmarks, coloring book, and paintings. It took me until 1998 to have the self confidence and courage to become an artist. Before then, I attempted photography, odd jobs, and being a graphic designer for 6 years, when all along I always wanted to create and sell my own art.

I began painting backwards on old windows and have painted and sold hundreds. The windows are painted in an opaque style and are meant to be hung on the wall. The painting and writing is done on the reverse side, so it's backwards writing, which has always been a specialty of mine. I sometimes paint on wood and make assemblage pieces.

My illustrations are drawn with colored pencil, gel pens, and magic markers. They reflect not only humor, but also are meant to inspire and are an outgrowth of the inner work and healing I've done over the years. My goal is to share my art far and wide. My wish is for healing and happy enthusiastic journey for everyone.
