Artists Statement
My acrylic painting style was inspired by many techniques: Australian Aboriginal acrylic dot painting; mosaics; and pointillism. I call my technique poisaic.
Animals have always been my subject of calling. To replicate nature, dots provide camouflage and texture to the animal. In my first endangered species series, I have been challenged to paint new types of animals. I love the texture I am able to create with dots, especially in reptiles.
I am determined to help endangered species. The thought of needlessly losing a species that has purpose here on earth, motivates me to want to change their circumstances. I feel my paintings and book are two steps in that direction.
