Insatiable curiosity fuels an ongoing drive to explore many of the so-called 'lost arts' while pushing the envelope and asking 'what would happen if'. Being self taught is liberating in that I can learn without being told 'you can't do it that way' leaving the door to creative expression wide open. Naturally it is quite helpful to be more than a little crazy as well! That same curiosity led to travels from Maine to California, the Arctic Circle to Puerto Rico before settling down in Williams, Arizona with my husband of thirty years who is gracious enough to put up with a floor loom the size of an SUV, a massive reference library, cabinets full of bright beads, buttons, wire, a jewelers bench, rock tumblers, clay table, sewing machine, three knitting beds and much more.
At the moment my interests lean towards chain maille, wire work and beaded jewelry, hand woven garments, and intricate soft sculpture dragons. When not engaged in the creative process, I review books for MonstersAndCritics.com, write for Bead & Button and Beadwork magazines, collaborate with other authors, teach aqua aerobics and hike the northern Arizona countryside. If you have a special project in mind please contact me, I'm always open to new challenges!
